Inter-Tec is an independent stress analysis and design consultancy based in Prestwick, Ayrshire. We work mainly in the aerospace industry, and occasionally in defence, marine, offshore and general transportation sectors, for a number of clients both within the UK and globally. We are close to achieving our own Design Organisation Approval, a standard awarded by EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency), who regulate all aircraft approvals in Europe. This will further enhance our service offering to customers.

We are looking for a degree qualified aeronautical or mechanical engineer, or related discipline, to lead our stress team, as follows:

Candidate Profile:

• At least 5 years of varied experience gained within the aerospace sector, covering new and legacy products
• The ability to help develop, implement and supervise good engineering practice
• Ability to supervise engineering teams through effective technical / project management
• Ability to act on own initiative
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances
• Good interpersonal and communications skills
• Effective interfacing with customers

Opportunity at outset:

• Day-to-day management of stress engineering work load
• Preparation of certification documentation in support of design changes undertaken, in conjunction with Head of Airworthiness
• Be part of the senior management team along with MD and Head of Design, driving business forward and growing overall engineering team
• To take control of selective specific development activities that may arise – possibly new geographic areas, potential new key customers etc.

You will receive training where required to further develop your skills and knowledge as an engineer and as manager of the stress engineering team.

Junior / Graduate Stress Engineer (Permanent)

We are looking for a Masters Degree qualified graduate aeronautical or mechanical engineer, or from a closely related discipline, to work as part of our engineering team carrying out design, stress analysis and certification work ranging from concept design to modifications and repairs of aircraft, taking account of  the relevant aircraft design requirements. The candidate will be a new graduate, or may have up to 3 years experience in industry.

Responsibilities to include:

• Preparation of Stress Reports and Documentation
• Creation of finite element models, with senior engineer guidance as required
• Preparation of certification documentation in support of design changes undertaken

You will receive training where required to develop your skills and knowledge as an engineer and build your value within the engineering team.
